Ask ScooterDad: Will HIC bars fit on IHC forks?

Answer:

You could technically make them fit by stacking an HIC shim on top of the IHC shim, but you should NOT do that as it will be very unstable.

Ask ScooterDad: Is it possible to ics compression a scooter with oversized bars? And with mgp hothead HIC forks as I have some standard sized bars if not?

Answer:

ICS is for standard diameter bars and ICS-compatible forks only. Also, the MGP Hothead fork says it requires oversized bars for HIC: http://www.thevaultproscooters.com/shop/madd-gear-mgp-hot-head-alloy-thr...

Ask ScooterDad: does the Madd Gears VX1 JAM Scooter have a hic fork

Answer:

No, that scooter has a threaded fork and threaded headset. You would need a threadless fork and threadless headset, plus oversized bars and oversized clamp, in order to run HIC.

Ask ScooterDad: can I get oversized bars to fit ihc compression

Answer:

You might technically be able to get oversized bars to fit IHC by using the IHC shim and the HIC shim, but that would create a very unstable system. I do not recommend going with this method. If you want to use oversized bars, you need a standard fork and HIC or full-size SCS. If you want to use IHC, you need standard diameter bars.

Ask ScooterDad: I am getting fasen spiral bars and a proto double clamp. do I need to get rid of the slit on bars to get it to fit?

Answer:

By "Proto double clamp," I assume you mean the Half-knuckle clamp. You want a slit in your bars for IHC, ICS, and HIC. You only want NO SLIT if you are using SCS. Since the Half-knuckle is not an SCS, you would want the slit in your bars.

Ask ScooterDad: When I tighten my mgp hic and clamp up tight my bars still move around with out the forks following?

Answer:

It sounds like your clamp is too big or you don't have a slit in your bars.
