[Updated 8/21/13 with day schedule]
It's time for the Pacific Northwest's biggest scooter competition: it's Cootercon time! Presented by Phoenix Pro Scooters, Cootercon 2013 is going to be at Windells in Sandy, OR on Saturday, August 31st. Shop Mothership will be running the event as always, so be sure to thank Jimmy Lewis for keeping Cooterocn alive!
For those new to Windells, it's primarily a ski and snowboard camp that also has indoor and outdoor skateparks and a foam pit! They just rebuilt the indoor park, but you can find videos of the concrete outdoor park on YouTube to get an idea of what the park is like. You can see a video of Dan Barrett's run from Cootercon 2012 below.
Registration is $40 for each division or $60 on the day of the event, so be sure to pre-register here. You'll also need to complete a Windells waiver that you can download here. The competition divisions are as follows:
Here is the event day schedule, according to the Facebook event page linked below:
As one of the few remaining scooter competitions in the Northwest, be sure to come out and show your support for the sport. The park will be open to registered competitors only for practice on Friday, August 30th from 9:00AM (conflicting details: Facebook event page says 12:00PM) to 9:00PM. Parking and spectating space is limited, so get to the park early
