Well, if you haven't already heard, there was an unanticipated closure date for registration to Scooter Camp (hosted by Woodward) as of last Friday. That is, they have started telling people that if you weren't already registered by last Friday, then you'll be put on a waiting list and you may not get in. This is good news and bad news. The good news is that our sport is growing more than many people have anticipated and this year's Scooter Camp is going to be the biggest ever. The bad news is that this early closure of registration was unexpected and many people will be left out, some even having purchased plane tickets already.
If you're one of the campers who has already sent in your registration but has not yet received your camper packet, I highly recommend that you call Woodward (during business hours, 9AM-5PM Pacific) and confirm that you have been accepted. If there is an issue, the sooner you can address it, the better! Call Woodward at 661-822-7900.
If you were planning on registering, contact Woodward and register immediately as you still might be able to get in. If we hear of any future scooter camps or other updates regarding this camp, we'll post them here as soon as possible. Having more kids want to go to scooter camp than Woodward can accomodate is a good ploblem to have. That means our sport is growing and there is a big demand for these camps. It's one of the best experiences your scooter kid can have, so if you have the opportunity to send him/her, I strongly urge you to do so.
Also, Madd Gear's Ryan Williams and Terry Price will not be at Scooter Camp this year due to a change in their itinerary. Hopefully they will be able to attend next year.
If you have registered, there is a chance you can get your tuition paid for by receiving a Woodward scholarship. Here are the guidelines for scooter camp scholarship nominations:

I've been hearing reports of kids being admitted despite the registration closure and waiting list. If you still want to go and you haven't yet registered, call Woodward ASAP (9-5 Pacific) and try to get in. Also, they want the waivers and medical forms completed and returned prior to the camp, so get those forms from the Woodward website, fill them out, and fax them back in soon.
